Our Story
15+ Years of Getting People to Build Together
BeMyApp started with two guys in a bar wondering what would happen if they brought tech people, programmers, and developers together after work to share ideas and build things.
What began as a simple meetup quickly turned into a bigger idea: what if companies could tap into that community to find talented people who could actually build apps for them? It was the height of the app rush, when every company was trying to figure out how to get into mobile, and we saw an opportunity to turn the energy of the developer community into a new kind of crowdsourced innovation engine. Instead of hiring a big agency and handing over a project, companies could bring a challenge to a community of builders, give them the tools and freedom to experiment, and see what they could create.
That first idea became BeMyApp, and it set the foundation for what we still do today: bringing companies and communities together to learn, build, and turn ideas into action.
Over the next 15 years, BeMyApp grew from weekend app events into a full-service agency, with teams in Europe and North America running programs across 35+ countries.
Today, most of our work is repeat work. IBM, for example, has run over a dozen programs with us, from IBM Z Day to TechXchange to university AI hackathons. We're now building programs around AI adoption and preparing developers for quantum computing, because whatever technology companies invest in next, developers have to learn it first.
